Amjad Ali Bach

Amjad Ali Bacha has an over 15 years of experience in nutrition and health sector. Mr. Bacha is currently working as a Lecturer in the Agriculture University Peshawar Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan. He has completed his Bachelor (B.Sc.Hons) and master (M.Sc. Hons) with specialization in Human Nutrition and PhD in progress with major in Human Nutrition. He has worked in different government and private sectors. Mr. Bacha worked with the United Nation World Food Program for more than three years during protracted relief & recovery (PRRO) and emergency operation (EmOp) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Pakistan. Mr. Bacha also worked as a Nutrition coordinator with save the children international in different emergencies from 2009-11. Being a coordinator, he played a vital role in the militancy and flood effected districts of KP for inception of Community Nutrition (CMAM & IYCF) and strengthening the capacity of health staff for effective and timely identification and treatment of malnourished children and pregnant and lactating mothers.

At management level Mr. Bacha developed different proposal for CERF, ERF, DFID etc. and secured appreciable funding for execution of in kind and soft component support to different Nutrition implementing partners. Being an active cluster member highlighted the issues related to malnutrition and devised the agreed coping strategies.

Being a Nutritional professional, Mr. Bacha contributed in developing the capacity of government as well private partner as a master trainer. He delivered training on Nutrition in emergencies (NiE), Harmonized Training Package (HTP), Community Based Management of Acute Malnutrition ( CMAM), Maternal Infant Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN), Monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of Nutrition projects and integrated approach under Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) vision.
